WINNERS ANNOUNCED FOR 2016 BOCA RATON BOWL ART CONTEST
BOCA RATON, Fla. (December 1, 2016) – This second annual Boca Raton Bowl Art Contest had more than 200 entries from schools across Palm Beach County. Sponsored by Florida Blue and South Florida Fair, the contest provided elementary students with the opportunity to learn about football and the importance of living an active, healthy lifestyle.
“It is refreshing to be involved with the collaboration between ESPN West Palm, the Boca Bowl and the School District to support arts education and physical activity for all students,” said Eric Stern, K-12 - Physical, Health and Driver Education Administrator of Palm Beach County.
First place was awarded to fifth grader Luke Royer of Banyan Creek Elementary. Fifth grader Zaria Clemons of Banyan Creek was awarded second place. Hammock Pointe Elementary first-grade student Christian Da Costa and Marsh Pointe Elementary fourth grader Jacqueline Lowenthal earned third and fourth place, respectively.
The first-place winner’s artwork will be featured on the Jumbotron during the Boca Raton Bowl game. Luke Royer and his family, along with his Art teacher, as well as school Principal, will take part in a special on-field presentation during the game. In addition, the first, second, third and fourth place winners will receive tickets for their family to the Boca Raton Bowl on Dec. 20, 7 p.m. at FAU Stadium, as well as a South Florida Fair Mega Saver package that includes four adult admissions, four $5 food vouchers and two ride wristbands. Game day ticket packages will also be awarded to the Art teachers of the second, third and fourth place winners.
All artwork will be displayed in the Florida Blue Boynton Beach Retail Center in Boynton Beach, Fla. on Friday, Dec. 2 from 5-7 p.m. At the event, all students and their artwork will be recognized and celebrated, while honoring the first, second, third and fourth place winners. ESPN 106.3 FM will be broadcasting live and the winning student will have a chance to join the live radio show broadcast.
